BANK OF AMERICA REPORT FORECASTS STRONG 1997 EXPORT
GROWTH
Pacific rim activity is expected to fuel double-digit growth in exports from California
in 1997 according to a report released Tuesday by the Bank of America's International Trade
Bank. The group forecasts that exports from the state will grow from $108 billion in 1996 to
$123 billion in 1997. The report predicts that while economic growth in many Asian
countries may slow in 1997, California exports to those markets will remain strong thanks in
part to economic restructuring and resulting demand for California's high-technology and
information sensitive products. For a copy of the report, contact the bank at 415-622-2645, or

Congressional delegation office numbers, as well as a tentative list of House committee
assignments. If you did not receive a copy and would like one, please contact us.]
